The Lady Killers

I have enjoyed all of the Coen Brother's films that I have watch thus far, but unfortunately that has stopped with "The Lady Killers." The last two Coen Brother's films that I have watched were "The Man Who Wasn't There" and "O Brother, Where Art Thou," both of which were excellent movies that have received much attention. "The Lady Killers" is a familiar story and was highly predictable. I was wondering why none of my friends seemed to say anything about the movie after it was released, but now I know why. At least now I can check the movie off on the list of Coen Brother films that I have seen, but an hour and forty-four minutes could have been better spent.

Another movie that I have been wanting to see is "The Chronicles of Riddick," and, like "The Lady Killers," I never heard any of my friends say anything about that movie either. Perhaps I should lower my expectations to the same level as when I went to see the Dungeon and Dragons movie, a movie that I actually ended up slightly enjoying because of my expectations were rock bottom.

On a slightly different topic, I have been surprised to see the first season of "Babylon 5" at the nearby video rental store. Not sure how popular it is, but scuff marks on the cases seem to indicate that they get some attention. I plan to start working my way though the first season eventually since I wasn't able to watch 100% of what my friend Don had.

Intel Inside Apple

Some of my friends have talked about or made the switch to "the other side," from a MS Windows PC to a Mac. With the recent turn of events, it makes me laugh to think that those friends may end up back where they started.

Got My PSP

Today I joined the ranks of PSP owners. I've been waiting for a good time to by my PSP, and today was that time. Using points that I have accumulated at the nearby electronics store (Yamada Denki), I was able to purchase my PSP Standard Pack for about $45 new. Today there was a special were points were worth 1.5x their normal amount, so I cashed in my 9,920 points and finally bought myself a PSP.

Unfortunately I don't yet have a memory stick for it yet, but I plan on buying a 256MB stick sometime this week, along with a USB cable so I can listen to music or watch videos. It is also a little disappointing, but not at all surprised, that my PSP has the 1.50v software on it, so no l337 hacking for me, not that I care to hack my PSP atm anyways though.

The only game that I have at the moment is Lumines, and I must say that my initial impressions of the game are good. The music is decent and I'm sure that it will start to sound better as I become more familiar with the game and how to play. I'm sure that my friend Jim (aka Dyre) would love Lumines if he hasn't tried it already. The two other games that interest me are Wipe Out Pure and Untold Legends. I could really go for some hack and slash action, so I think my next purchase will be Untold Legends. Oh, I also plan on getting the Logitech PlayGear Pocket Case to store my PSP in.
